xbmc plays only 2 seconds of the movie

i have tried to play my movies (divx,svcd) with the new xbmc, but 2 seconds after the videos starts xbmc goes back to the my videos selection. it doesn't work from cd & smb.

xbmp plays the videos without any problems.

any suggestions?

same problem here.

movies shared via smb starts playing for 1-2 seconds, then xbmc turns back to the filebrowser menu.
the same movie from xbox hd plays fine!

using evox as dash. maybe this could be a problem.

no problems in xbmp (not that, but ...)

btw, sounds like a bug, probably not the right forum here.

same problem over here too. looks like this one's a common one. only affects movies over smb, not music.

problem seems to be solved in cvs "xbmc-2003-10-08".
(already used the syntax smb://[login]:[password]@[workgroup]/[computer name]/[share name]
before)

movies are now playing fine, except the already known "xbmp movies >2gb [edit: bigger than 2gb, not smaller ] restarts from beginning at reaching 2gb point" bug (is it a bug?)

oh no it doesn't, it also affect movies on iso9660 cd and dvd :(

also it seems to be codec independant as i've tried it on divx and xvid with both mp3 and ac3 sound codecs.

i had the bug described above and i think that i found solution to it - at least it worked for me.

im still n00b with xbox & related stuff, so don't take it too seriously if i am totally incorrect. it seems that syntax in smb mapping caused the problem - this is what i noticed:

* <path>smb://bluepete:xyz@koti/bluepete/movies</path>
</bookmark>

as you can see, out-of-my-head syntax in "not working" smb mapping is really not working properly. i had a brilliant idea of using ip address instead of workgroup and computer name because it felt more straight forward way. even though it really shows directory contents and starts to play movie, it stops after two seconds.

the "working" bookmark works just fine in syntax smb://[login]:[password]@[workgroup]/[computer name]/[share name]

hopefully this helps someone.
